Meymac
Meymac is a Medieval town built in pink granite, nestling in a depression at the foot of the ‘Plateau de Millevaches’ at an altitude of 2500 ft.The surrounding hills are largely covered by woodlands which give the town it’s special character.
The original village was built around the Benedictine monastery and protected in Medieval times by a fortified enclosure of which a few vestiges remain today.
