Crisis Management Volcanic Ash Disruption to flights over Europe
Volcanic Ash – Possible Disruption
The operations team at Activ4 will continue to monitor the situation regarding possible disruption caused by the recent eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano on the 21st May 2011.
A spokesman from the Met office, which runs Europe’s Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, has said that the changeable weather has made forecasts very uncertain and therefore made it much more difficult to predict whether any disruption may be caused.
If your departure or arrival airport is closed due to Volcanic Ash disruption we will work in partnership with group leaders to make arrangements wherever possible to get groups to their destination at the earliest opportunity. Our response will be tailored to each specific set of circumstances and our experienced team will remain in contact with party leaders to ensure that groups are safe and as well informed as possible.
