Day in Barcelona
Where it’s held
Platja d’Aro is a modern, cosmopolitan town, neighbouring the elegant town of S’Agaró, in south east Girona. This fabulous beachside town also boasts a wonderful historic town centre, which has preserved its medieval charm. The area offers a fabulous holiday experience for school groups, with so much to offer: a beautiful natural setting, culture, leisure, sport and best of all, a delightful seafront location, with an impressive, endless beach, and idyllic little bays.
Sample Itinerary for Spain School Hockey Tours
Day 1 Arrive in Spain
You will depart from a UK airport bound for Spain. On arrival at your destination airport you will be greeted by your Activ4 School Tours Local Representative and transferred to the Caleta Palace hotel. Located right on the beach and with direct access to one of the most beautiful coves on the Costa Brava, the complex features great facilities.
Day 2 Training, Fixtures, Bowling
Training will be done in the morning and one of the great things about touring in Spain is that they excel in their sporting facilities. Fixtures are often the highlight of the tour. They are usually played during the evening with local teams. Evening entertainments will be carefully planned for your group round off the evening at ‘D’Aro Bowling’.
Day 3 Portaventura
This morning you can opt to head to Portaventura Theme park. Spend the whole day at this amazing park that offers plenty of exciting rides suitable for all. From the fastest roller coaster in Europe the thrill seeking ‘Furius Baco’ in the Mediterrània area, the ‘Dragon Khan’ roller coaster in the China area to the more traditional ‘tea cups’ and log flume rides!
Day 4 Training, Swimming
Back to sport this morning with a training session where you can focus on developing and improving the students’ techniques. During the afternoon you may take a recovery session back at the hotel swimming pool! Prior to departure your tour manager will discuss the standard of opposition required. Your final fixture will take place this evening.
Day 5 Barcelona, Return Flight Home
After breakfast it’s time to check out and head to Barcelona. Your group can opt to take a tour around Europe’s largest football stadium, the world famous Camp Nou. You will finish your time in Barcelona by heading to Las Ramblas for some shopping time. Your coach will then transfer you to the airport for the return flight home.
