The early bird catches the worm!
Planning and booking earlier can be incredibly beneficial to your trip. By starting early you will have greater availability and thus choice of hotels and, with the greater choice of destination, you can choose a location that better suits your budget.
Moreover, putting your trip out earlier can give you extra time to get the numbers needed can help to ensure the cost effectiveness of your trip. This also means that the earlier the release of the trip, the more time parents have to get the money together.
Consider travelling by coach
Your chosen mode of transport can have a large impact on the cost of your overall trip, it is often much cheaper than flying. The best way to make your transport even more cost effective is to make sure you fill your coach. This again will be easier the earlier you release your trip by giving you the time to make sure you enough students to fill your coach.
If you do wish to fly, term time trips are likely to be less expensive than during the school holidays.
Travelling in term time
As mentioned above, travelling in term time not only means that flights are less expensive, hotels often have more availability and slopes are often much quieter. Travelling outside of school holidays gives you the chance to shop around on destinations and ensure you find a trip that suits you and your budget.
Fundraising
A fundraising activity, even a simple bake, can go a long way in contributing to the overall school ski trip cost. Any amount you raise, not matter how big or small can make a huge difference to individual families.
