Activ4’s New York School Performing Arts trips don’t just cover the bare essentials we offer a commitment to provide the best value, tailor-made and inspirational educational experiences for young people beyond the classroom.
For over a decade our New York based destination team has been providing the most successful experiences. There is so much to see and do that the problem is fitting it all in.
Performing Arts Trips to New York include:
Depart from the UK for New York City. On arrival you will be met by a member of the Activ4 School Tours American team whom will assist with the coach transfer and check in. As well as Times Square, the hotel is close to NYC attractions including the Rockefeller Centre, the Empire State Building, and Madison Square Garden to name a few.
This morning, your group will travel to your first workshop. Prior to departure our experienced tour managers will go through your workshop requirements to ensure that they are tailored to your students. After your workshop you could opt to head to the 70th floor observatory at the Top of the Rock where you can enjoy the dramatic views of New York City.
Your group will head to your final drama workshop. This afternoon you could opt to visit to the iconic Statue of Liberty. Board a ferry from Battery park to Liberty Island for some of the best views of New York and of the national monument; a gift of international friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States.
Sadly it’s departure day, after breakfast check out of the rooms and leave your bags behind. Make the most of your final hours in the City with some last minute shopping. Return to your hotel where your coach will transfer you back to the airport so that you can check in for the overnight flight back to the UK.
Arrival back in the UK. The tour officially ends when you get back to the UK, but with a trip this great we are sure that it will live long in the memory.

Start with a practical masterclass in acting, musical theatre or stage combat led by a working professional, then see a Broadway musical that evening. Add a post-show Q&A or talkback where schedules allow to connect rehearsal room learning with the performance you’ve just watched.

Take in breathtaking views of Manhattan from the Rockefeller Center’s observation deck. Students can sketch, photograph and discuss how the city has grown, the relationship between architecture and culture, and how public spaces like this shape New York’s global identity. It’s also an inspiring setting for reflective writing, drama exercises or group discussions on urban life and creativity.

Visit one of the world’s most recognisable skyscrapers and experience the city from its famous observation decks. Students can explore exhibitions on the building’s design, Art Deco style and its place in film and popular culture. The panoramic views provide a dramatic backdrop for creative reflection, photography, or even short devised performance pieces inspired by New York’s energy and scale.

Take the ferry to Liberty Island and experience the iconic landmark that has welcomed generations of visitors to New York. Students can explore the museum to learn about the statue’s construction, symbolism and role in American history. The setting provides powerful inspiration for creative writing, drama and music activities themed around freedom, identity and cultural exchange.
New York school trips mean the chance to experience what being on Broadway means. Not only seeing one of the fabulous shows but actually being able to feel part of it; the workshops just off Broadway, meeting cast members, choreographers and directors. This is what I mean about the vibe… you can almost touch it. Inspirational is an overused term but if being part of this experience doesn’t inspire you then sadly nothing will.

Located right in the heart of Times Square, the Row Hotel offers more than you could need. For example enjoy the fitness centre or get a snack at the onsite sugar factory! Fuel up for a day of activities in the District M Bar which offers a continental breakfast. All this and the hotel is only a short walk from Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and the Empire State Building.
