Less than an hour from Athens, Sportcamp Loutraki is our flagship destination for Greece school adventure and watersports trips. As the largest privately owned sports centre in the country, it offers a huge range of facilities in one safe, self-contained setting.
Groups staying at Sportcamp can dive straight into an exciting programme of watersports and outdoor adventure. Kayaking, sailing and beach activities make the most of Loutraki’s coastal setting, while climbing walls, obstacle courses and team challenges test confidence and teamwork. Alongside these, the campus also offers football pitches, basketball and tennis courts, squash and swimming – giving students the chance to balance high-energy adventure with a wide choice of traditional sports.
Combine the sunshine, excellent facilities and our expert planning and you have the recipe for a truly memorable school adventure. With our attention to detail and on-the-ground support, your group can focus on having fun, building confidence and making the most of everything Loutraki has to offer.
Glorious weather is one of the features that our party leaders have commented on over the years and groups can travel to this part of Greece from Easter right through until October. Some have even combined watersport activities with sport activities.
As an adventure team here at Activ4 we wanted to be able offer a unique school water sports trip experience. Loutraki is a coastal resort popular with Athenians looking for a relaxing beach holiday. Only a few kilometres away, is Heraion Lagoon which is separated from the sea by a narrow peninsula. The infrastructure here for a school water sports trip is excellent and only surpassed by the fabulous scenery.
Depart from a UK airport bound for Athens, then a coach journey to SPORTCAMP which is located just 5km away from the seaside resort of Loutraki. SPORTCAMP is the largest private sports centre in Greece. You can then make yourself at home in the modern dorms.
Start each day with a buffet breakfast before your watersports sessions. You will be transferred to Heraion Lake, where the first of your Water sport activity sessions will begin with a full safety briefing .You will all meet at Ypanema beach bar for a BBQ lunch before the afternoon sessions begin. After dinner a movie night to wind down.
Today you head out on a guided bus tour to the country’s capital city Athens. Once off the bus you could visit museums, see spectacular views of ancient temples. No visit to the capital is complete without time for shopping so you will head to Monastiraki. Back at camp you can enjoy an evening of Greek traditional games.
After breakfast the group will be transferred back to Heraion Lake to pick up where they left off in their sessions. One in the morning, followed by lunch at Ypanema Seaside Restaurant, then a second session in the afternoon. This evening you can get together for a quiz night.
Today you will collect your packed lunch from camp and head for a day at the Isthmus Water Fun Park. The park includes many slides including the Kamikaze and Black. After dinner on the last night many groups like to have an area set aside for a presentation evening bringing everyone together recognising improvement and dedication throughout the tour.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and today you return to the UK. Your coach will transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. The tour officially ends when you get back to the UK, but with a trip this great we are sure that it will live long in the memory…
