Starlight is a non-stop festival of performing arts with specialist workshops in some of the most exciting genres of current performance. Starlight is led by inspirational tutors with the latest ideas and stage experience in ‘Shadow Theatre’, Stage Combat, Musical Theatre, Street Dance and even Circus Skills…

The rationale behind the Starlight festival was to be able to offer school Performing Arts Department’s the opportunity to take part in something special; the chance to meet and work with new and talented people and to enjoy an inspirational and supportive atmosphere.

Wb1Mark Ruddick

Mark’s passion for stunt performing stems from a lifelong obsession with martial arts, performance and a desperate need to feel like a superhero. Trained at Exeter University, The British Academy of Dramatic Combat and the London Stunt School, with a Ju Jitsu black belt and a wealth of industry experience on features such as Captain America and War Horse.

StarlightRichard Reynard

Richard is currently the principal of ‘Musical Theatre High!’ in Leighton Buzzard but having been professionally trained at the prestigious college, Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, he has been an actor for the past 15 years. Amongst numerous exciting productions Richard has performed in the West End hits Cats, Chicago, The Witches of Eastwick, My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia and Blood Brothers alongside Mel C.

Circus skills can enable pupils to discover within themselves the skills which can provide all kinds of creative solutions. Skills such as concentration, retention, conceptual understanding and self-awareness, which can be transferred to a social setting and applied to more conventional learning situations in the core subjects. What’s more it’s absolutely great fun…

StarlightDiana Bayliss

Diana specialises in traditional and innovative shadow theatre performance techniques and has established an excellent reputation in education with her shadow workshops. Working with a large screen the shadow players explore the dramatic possibilities of body shadow theatre in a 3 dimensional space, how to control their shadows through body control and manipulate the shapes.

    Hello. Can I have a price quote for a weekend of either shadow puppets or circus skills?

    Friday and Saturday night.

    Either one member of staff and ten students.

    Or two teachers and twenty students.
