Take a look at this fantastic USA East Coast itinerary…
For over 15 years we have been planning and organising amazing school trips to the USA. Let’s face it, if you are taking a group away on what you have billed as a ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ it has really got to live up to that billing.
School Trips USA: Day 1
Leave London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic bound for JFK New York. Your group will be travelling with your own tour escort. Coaches will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred your hotel.
School Trips USA:Day 2
Meet your Guides on 9th Avenue between 33rd and 34th Streets, across the street from B & H Photo, to begin your Landmark Tour of New York City.
The most popular part of New York City is the area between Columbus Circle and Battery Park. Within those borders are some of the world’s most famous places: the Empire State Building, Chinatown, the World Trade Center Site, 9-11 Memorial, Grand Central Terminal, The United Nations, The Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, Washington Square Arch, Little Italy, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. On tour with a private guide your group will see, hear and explore the city.
Lunch stop at Herald Square:
Arrive at the Empire State Building, 2:00pm reservation, for a trip to the 86th Floor observatory. Enter at the 5th Avenue Entrance; provide your passes included in your documents.
Pre-show dinner at Dallas BBQ
Sam S. Shubert Theatre: tonight’s performance of Matlida.
School Trips USA:Day 3
Meet your guides:
Ferry to Statue of Liberty where you will view France’s gift of International Friendship to the US. Next to the flag, it’s America’s most famous symbol for freedom – an icon for the immigrant. Here you will get a wonderful up, close and personal view of the Lady as she has stood in New York Harbor, since 1886.
Ellis Island; Take a tour of the gateway for millions of immigrants to the United States as the nation’s busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 until 1954. Lunch will be taken on Ellis Island.
Arrive at the Brooklyn Waterfront and proceed to the Carousel.
Jane’s Carousel is a classic 3-row machine with 48 exquisitely carved horses and two superb chariots. It was created in 1922, the heyday of the American Carousel, by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.
Dinner Disco & Sightseeing Cruise
The Spirit of New York Cruise departs. Enjoy dinner onboard the Spirit while cruising the Hudson River experiencing the views of the New York City skyline.
School Trips USA: Day 4
Coaches will depart New York for Hershey Pennsylvania. Experience a full day of the Amusement Park, Water Park & Zoo America. Founded in 1905 by Milton S. Hershey, as a leisure park for the employees of the Hershey ChocolateCompany, Hershey Park opened its first roller coaster in 1923, The Wild Cat, an early Philadelphia Toboggan Company coaster. Today it is one of the most popular theme parks in the USA.
School Trips USA: Day 5
Meet your Guides in the Lobby of your hotel, board your coaches, to begin your journey back in time to discover the Pennsylvania Amish.
The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County are America’s oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old “Plain” lifestyle. Arriving in PA Dutch Country allows you to step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace – one where the horse & buggy remains a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature.
School Trips USA: Day 6
Meet your coaches and depart to the Arundel Mills Shopping Mall.
After a morning’s shopping, proceed to Washington DC where dinner will be taken at The Hard Rock Café.
Following dinner, meet your 3 Guides at the restaurant to begin the Washington DC Illuminated tour. The illuminated tour provides a unique perspective to visitors as they witness DC by night. When the museums and other attractions close for the evening, a tour guide can show your group the memorials in their splendor.
School Trips USA: Day 7
Arlington National Cemetery performs 27 to 30 funeral services each day. The grounds of Arlington National Cemetery honor those who have served our nation by providing a sense of beauty and peace for our guests. The rolling green hills are dotted with trees that are hundreds of years in age and complement the gardens found throughout the 624 acres of the cemetery.
Founded in 1846, the Smithsonian is the world’s largest museum and research complex, consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities. The National Museum of African American History and Culture will be a place to learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience, what it means to their lives and how it helped shape the US nation.
