Lake Millstatt is often called the Jewel of Carinthia and when you stand alongside it you can really see why.
The majestic mountains reflected in the clear water, the beautiful lakeside villages and the fabulous Alpine air. We came across Seeboden because it is one of our most popular ski locations but the setting was so perfect we wanted to know what went on in the summer. For water sports Austria is a fabulous place to go.
The peak season in Seeboden is actually during the summer months when tourists arrive to enjoy ‘Lakes and Mountains’ holidays,… well it certainly has the credentials for that! Lake Millstatt is actually a hive of adventure activity as people explore the local trails, hikes and of course enjoy the water sports.
Water Sports Austria: Camp Royal X
School adventure trips are based at Camp Royal X which is an ultra modern hotel right on the lakeside. School groups actually have their own self contained cube which offers everything from flat screen TV’s to a private games room and place to ‘hang out’.
Access to each cube is controlled by electronic wrist band so only your group can get in! Once the students are safely accommodated in their “cube” there is a great room for teachers to meet up and discuss the day’s events, large screen TV and a nice bar.
There are plenty of watersport and adventure activities to keep everyone busy. The water sessions actually run from Camp Royal X. The hotel has fabulous lakeside areas that if you aren’t in the thick of it with the students then you can sit with a coffee and keep your eye on everyone. The sessions themselves are typical of any Activ4 adventure holiday and the kids will have a ball getting to grips with new found skills in canoes, boards and boats.
