This 3-day, 2-night trip combines high street trends, vintage treasures, and museum exhibitions to provide a dynamic and educational experience outside the classroom.
Your students will trace the evolution of British fashion through hands-on workshops, curated exhibitions, and lively street markets, all while strengthening curriculum connections and sketchbook development. Whether examining embroidery from the 1800s or documenting bold streetwear, this trip is tailored to inspire young designers.
This Fashion & Textiles school trip is based in central London, offering easy access to world-class museums, iconic market districts, and cutting-edge design inspiration. Students will observe and analyse garments, textile techniques, and fashion heritage in real contexts — helping them to understand how culture, technology, and sustainability influence the design process.
Arrive in London and check into your central hotel. Begin your exploration with a visit to either Portobello Road or Camden Market — both packed with vintage clothing, handmade accessories, and global fashion influences.
Encourage students to take photographs and make quick observational sketches for future use in coursework.
Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay at the Royal National Hotel.
After breakfast, start the day with a visit to the Fashion & Textile Museum to explore temporary exhibitions covering colour theory, print, or contemporary designers.
In the afternoon, visit the Victoria & Albert Museum for an in-depth look at textiles, embroidery, costume design, and cultural influences from around the globe.
Optional evening theatre visit to a costume-focused West End production.
