Sri Lanka School Cricket Tours

Day 1-2 Journey commences

Departing from a UK airport and travel overnight to Bandaranayke International Airport Colombo. On arrival you will be assisted by a member of the Activ4 Sri Lankan team who will help with the coach transfer and check in at your accommodation in Wellawatta. This evening you will have dinner and then unpack in to the hotel after your journey.

Day 3 First Fixture

Starting every day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. This morning the tour gets underway as you are taken by coach to the training facility for a training session. After lunch your squad will get a chance to relax and prepare for your first tour match against at a local school team. Tonight your group can get together for a quiz night.

Day 4 More Cricket

Enjoy another day of cricket with another local team. Fixtures are often the best part of the tour and clubs are always thrilled to play British sides and offer a friendly welcome and a competitive game. Following all the action and excitement you will be more than ready to sit down and enjoy your evening meal.

Day 5 Colombo City Tour

This morning your party will depart for a tour of Colombo City followed by an ever popular chance for some serious shopping. Colombo is a bustling city and a hopping-off point for beaches in the island nation’s south. This evening will see another game against Sri Lankan opposition and following this your party will return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 6 R&R

A training session this morning focusing on developing and improving the techniques from your fixtures earlier on in the tour. During the afternoon you may take a recovery session back at the hotel swimming pool or if the beach is for you then head straight over! Dinner will be taken in the hotel following the day’s training session.

Day 7 More Fixtures

A relaxed breakfast is taken this morning and some recreational time before setting off for today’s fixtures. There are areas within the hotel that can be set aside for team talks or strategic discussions prior to any of the tour fixtures. Dinner will be taken in the hotel following the day’s tour fixtures.

Day 8 Final Fixture

After breakfast you will head to the training ground for your final training session. This afternoon can be spent by the pool before setting off for this evening’s fixture and return victorious (hopefully) for your end of tour dinner. On the final night it has become a custom for touring teams to hold an awards ceremony.

Day 9 Arrive in UK

Sadly its departure day, after breakfast check out of the rooms and according to your flight plan to the UK you will be transferred to Bandaranayke Airport to embark on the journey home. All good things must come to an end but the sights and sound of Sri Lanka and the people you have met will live long in the memory.

Elephant Orphanage Visit

Spend a meaningful day at an elephant orphanage—such as the renowned Elephant Transit Home near Udawalawe—where students can observe orphaned calves being cared for and prepared for returning to the wild. It’s a rare opportunity to learn about conservation work, animal rehabilitation, and human-wildlife coexistence in a real-world setting. This visit brings together wildlife management, ethics, and environmental science—all within one unforgettable experience.

Yala National Park Safari

Embark on a thrilling safari through Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s second-largest and most-visited wildlife reserve. Students may spot elephants, leopards, sloth bears, birds, and more as they navigate diverse ecosystems with a knowledgeable driver-guide. This immersive experience brings geography, ecology, and biodiversity lessons to life amid stunning natural beauty.

Temple of the Tooth – Kandy

Visit one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred and culturally significant landmarks, the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. This UNESCO World Heritage site houses a relic believed to be the tooth of the Buddha, drawing pilgrims from around the world. Students will gain insight into Buddhist traditions, Sri Lankan spirituality, and the role of religion in national identity — all within the stunning surroundings of this lakeside temple complex.
