Day 1
Depart from London airport bound for Boston. Your group will be met by a member of the activ4 destination team and escorted to your coach for the 2 ½ hour transfer to Waterville Valley. Set in the heart of Waterville Valley and the White Mountain National Forest, the Snowy Owl Inn is perfect for your group and the owner Steve Hodges lives at the property and takes a great pride helping activ4 school groups make the most of their stay. All rooms are tastefully decorated with air conditioning, dataports, voicemail, cable TV and private baths. There are seven individual lobby areas, 6 with gas fireplaces to get-together after a day on the slopes. The Snowy Owl is in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and boasts an Indoor pool; outdoor pool; whirlpools; saunas; and access to Jacuzzi. Meals will be taken in the restaurant area and dinner will be the first order of business and maybe a quick swim. As party leader you will receive the lift tickets tonight so that everyone is ready to go in the morning.
Day 2
It is only a short transfer up the mountain and an American School bus will meet you right outside the door of the hotel which is in the shadow of the mountain. At the base lodge Conrad and Greg who manage the school ski programme will be there to meet you and escort you to the ski fit. All the information for the group is pre-supplied and your equipment is ready and waiting. After a full day of skiing it’s back down to the Snowy Owl. As with all areas of activ4 programmes, evening entertainments will be carefully planned for your group and tonight might be just the night to walk around to the Ice Arena in the Town Square either to skate, or depending on dates the local high school play their Ice Hockey matches here.
Day 3
Head out for another full day of fun in the snow. The Waterville Valley Ski School are excellent and Pete Weber who manages the Snowsport School is always on hand to discuss your progress. Lunch during the week can be taken at any of the mountain restaurants but generally everyone likes to meet up at the base lodge by the large fire. Groups can opt to pre-purchase lunch vouchers, usually for $10 per day and that will be enough for a filling lunch on the run before getting back out there. Tonight your group could hit the slopes again for an evening of tubing on the Ski Mountain and maybe a pizza dinner.
Day 4
Another active day and everyone starts to feel that they are making progress. One of the great things about skiing in Waterville is that skiers of all levels can enjoy the whole mountain. Oblivion, a blue run is 3 miles long and really gives everyone a sense of achievement. As a party leader, another key benefit is that all the runs funnel back down to one central point outside the base lodge, making it easy to round everyone up. Depending on the schedule you could opt to head over to Plymouth State College (20 mins by coach) to catch a college basketball game.
Day 5
Set off for another exciting day skiing. Head on up the mountain for the start of the ski lessons. By now the students will have gained confidence and will be eager to show what they can do! A great end to your evening will be to walk over to the Ice Arena where you can all enjoy an evening of Ice Skating.
Day 6
The last day to make the most of the snow, so head on up the mountain. After a hectic week of intense lessons the students will all have made good progress. After saying your good-bye’s on the mountain it’s back to the hotel for a presentation evening bringing everyone together and recognising improvement and dedication throughout the tour.
Day 7
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and today you check out. A popular option is to hit the Outlet Mall and head for the Abercrombie and Fitch and the Hollister stores. Then over to Boston Logan Airport for the flight home.
Day 8
Arrive back at your London airport. Your tour officially ends when you get back to the UK, but with a trip this great we are sure that it will live long in the memory.
